THE MID-YEAR BOOK FREAKOUT TAG
Hi everyone, Victoria here! Sorry, this post is going up a little bit late but I wanted to post it now anyway. Today I'm going to be doing the mid-year book freakout tag!! I have seen this floating around BookTube lately since the year is already half over (how?!). I really wanted to do this tag and now I'm finally getting around to it so let's just jump right into the questions!
I will be linking the post(s)/review where I talk about each book below so you can see my full thoughts on them!
*As of today, I have read 26 books so far in 2018!
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Best Book You've Read So Far in 2018?
Ok I can't choose one top favorite, so I'll be doing a top 3 (in no specific order):
~ The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith (JUNE WRAP UP)
~Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch (REVIEW)
2. Best Sequel You've Read So Far in 2018?
I haven't read any sequels yet, but I am planning on reading the sequel to Warcross by Marie Lu when it comes out later this year!
3. New Release You Haven't Read Yet, But Want To?
Aaaaa I have so many but a few include Girl Made of Stars by Ashley Herring Blake and Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne
4. Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2015?
Definitely Sawkill Girls by Claire Legrand! I just saw this randomly browsing on Goodreads one day but now I am hooked and I'm so excited for it to come out in October! If you haven't heard of this book or the synopsis, I encourage you to check it out.
5. Biggest Disappointment?
Probably Blood Water Paint by Joy McCollough (APRIL WRAP UP). I had such high anticipations for it, but I was really let down and just overall confused with this book. Check out my wrap up (linked above) to see my more complete thoughts on this novel told in verse.

6. Biggest Surprise?
Probably Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, which I read last month. I was super surprised by how much I enjoyed this book, and I definitely need to see the movie (Love, Simon) ASAP! (JUNE WRAP UP)
7. Favourite New Author?
Probably Amber Smith, the author of The Way I Used to Be (see question #1 for the link to my full thoughts). I really enjoy and connect with her writing style, so I am looking forward to reading her other book, The Last to Let Go, very very soon!
8. Newest Fictional Crush?
Ooooh, this is a tough one! I'd probably have to go with Sebastian (Seb) from Autoboyography! (See question #1 for the link to my full thoughts). Although he's not as much of a SWOON for me as Maxon from The Selection Series (he's my actual husband lol), he is definitely one of my new fictional crushes so far this year!

9. Newest Favourite Character?
I'd have to go with a character that I really related to, which is Abby from Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West! (APRIL WRAP UP)

10. Book That Made You Cry?
Hmm...I don't cry very easily at books but (sorry I've mentioned it so many times) The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith (see question #1 for the link to my full thoughts) had me tearing up at a few places and bawling at others. The subject matter is very emotional so it was expected that some tears would be present.

11. Book That Made You Happy?
One of many is Roayls by Rachel Hawkins! (MAY WRAP UP) If you're looking for a light-hearted contemporary to make you smile, this is definitely a book you will want to pick up!!

I would probably say my review of Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan (REVIEW) because I worked really hard on it.
