Nice Try, Jane Sinner by Lianne Oelke: Review

Image
Hi guys, Victoria here! And today I'm going to be doing a review for Nice Try, Jane Sinner by Lianne Oelke! Nice Try, Jane Sinner By: Lianne Oelke Rating: 3.5/5 stars Synopsis: Expelled high school student, Jane Sinner, is pushed to attend Elbow River Community College after a personal crisis. She agrees to go, but on one condition: she moves out of her parent's house. Searching for somewhere to live, she finds and signs up for a Big Brother- esque reality show called House of Orange , which is a low budget show run by the students of Elbow River. The winner gets a used car among other prizes. Will Jane's competitive nature be enough to outlast the competition and win the grand prize?   *TRIGGER WARNING: Depression and suicide talk. While these aspects aren't the main focus of the book, there is mention of both of these topics. If you are triggered by these things, be aware that they are discussed in this novel. -------------------------

The Valentine's Day Book Tag

Image
Hello everyone, Victoria here! And today, since it's Valentine's Day....I thought that I would do the Valentine's Day Book Tag! I found this on The Sassy Book Geek's blog, so go check it out if you're interested. Let's get on to the tag! Question #1- A standalone book you love Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. I loved this book so so much, and it was a really good mental health related novel. I also reading Zappia's other novel, Made You Up, which deals with a main character who has schizophrenia.  Question #2- A dystopian book you love Definitely, The Hunger Games is one of my favorite dystopian stories to read, although cliche at times. I've only physically read the first book in the series, but I have seen (and been complete trash for) all the movies. Question #3-A book that you love that no one else talks about I rated Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith 5/5 stars, while a lot of reviews I found on Go

January Wrap-Up (2018)

Hey everyone, Victoria here! I hope you've all had a great start to the year! This month, I read a total of 4 books! Here are my thoughts and ratings on each of them. Enjoy! 1.) Bad Girl Gone by Temple Mathews Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ / ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️  (4/5) This was my first read of 2018, and I really enjoyed it! You can see my review for more of my thoughts on this book  HERE . 2.) Warcross by Marie Lu Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ / ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️  (4/5) I really enjoyed this novel as well! It took me a while to get into it, but once I did, I was locked in! I read 250 pages of this book all in one day, so I was really eager to see how it unfolded. I really enjoyed all the character diversity and the world building was so extensive! Although I kind of saw the ending/ plot twist coming, I still thought it set up perfectly for a second book and I can't wait until we get one later this year (hopefully)! If you haven't picked this one up yet, TRUST THE HYPE and give it a
