August Wrap-Up (2018)
Hey everyone, Victoria here! Today I'm going to be sharing with you my August wrap-up! I read 3 books in August, which I'm kind of disappointed with, but I'm having less time to read since school started back up again :/ . So, let's just jump right into the wrap-up...
1.) Sea Witch by Sarah Henning
Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ / ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (5/5!)
I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did! I can confidently say that this is one of my favorite books I've read so far this year!! It details the origin story of how the infamous Ursula (from The Little Mermaid) came to be! It was so so interesting and it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I listened to the audiobook to this one while I was on vacation, and I listened to it the whole flight back home! It was so so good!! It was so atmospheric and descriptive, which made it so much more believable. I really enjoyed the unique storyline and romance featured in this book and I just could not put it down!
2.) Always Never Yours by Emily Wibberley and Austin Siegemund-Broka
Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ / ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4/5)
This was one of my most anticipated books of the year, and I really enjoyed it! I was expecting and hoping for it to be a 5 star read, but it didn't quite reach all of my expectations. Maybe I set the bar too high, but it was still a really cute contemporary! I enjoyed all the Shakespearian references in this book, and the overall story was so cute. At times, I was a bit bored/uninterested in reading this book, but that wasn't very often. I liked the main characters and how they dealt with everything they went through in the story. Overall, it definitely isn't my favorite contemporary ever, but I did really enjoy it and would recommend it if you're looking for something cute!
3.) To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ .5 / ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ (4.5/5)
I really really enjoyed this book! I was interested in reading it since the movie came out on Netflix, but I wasn't expecting to want to continue on with the series. I really liked the story and characters in this book, and I just thought it was super cute and a fun read. I'm hoping to enjoy the movie just as much, if not more, but I'm going to read the entire series before watching the movie. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a cute contemporary that is pretty much only focused on the romance lol. Let me know in the comments if you know of any books similar to this one that you think I might enjoy! :)
These are all the books that I read in August! Be sure to check out my TBR for September to see what I'm planning on reading this month and let me know in the comments if you read any of these books! See you next week with another new post!
