Bad Girl Gone by Temple Mathews: Review
Hello! Today I will be doing my first review of the year, in which I will be giving you my thoughts on Bad Girl Gone by Temple Mathews! So without any further ado, let's jump right into it!
Bad Girl Gone
By: Temple Mathews
Rating: 4/5 stars
Synopsis: A girl wakes up in a mysterious place. She remembers nothing about her life except her name, Echo Stone. She is at Middle House, an orphanage for troubled kids. The only problem is that Echo isn't orphan...her parents are very much alive. Wandering Middle House in search of answers, no one will tell her why she is there. Finally, Echo realizes that her parents are indeed alive, but she isn't. Echo has recently become a ghost. And the only way she can leave Middle House is if she solves her own murder and brings her murderer to justice.
What I liked: Well obviously I liked a lot if I gave it 4/5 stars! But here's the list!
-Echo~ I found Echo to be a great narrator for our story and an overall likable character! I enjoyed reading her story and trying to solve her murder along with her.
-The cover~ Well, just look at it! It's gorgeous!!
-The relationship between Echo and Cole~ Echo and another orphan at Middle House, Cole, form a strong bond as the two attempt to help one and other solve their murders. I really enjoyed watching their relationship form and grow deeper as the novel went on. I also enjoyed that their relationship wasn't the main focus of the book because it would have made the story less enjoyable in my opinion.
-The plot~ This story has an extremely unique plot and I haven't read anything like it before! The story kept me interested the whole time and I simply couldn't put this book down!
-The mysterious nature of it~ I had an awesome time contemplating who Echo's murderer could be, and I never saw it coming! This book did a great job making you keep guessing and guessing until the end.
-The ending~ Well, I can't say too much without spoiling it. But it is perfectly set up for another book. And I'm definitely hoping we get one!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall this book was a super quick and fun read! I don't usually gravitate towards too many YA mystery/horror novels, but I'm so glad I gave this one a try!
Let me know your thoughts on this book if you've read it in the comments below!
